About the play
Retired opera singers Cissy, Reg and Wilf are enjoying the quiet life in a home for musician retirees in County Kent. Plans for the annual concert for Verdi’s birthday are underway when Jean, Reg’s ex-wife arrives, complete with ‘star soloist’ ego. Seemingly insurmountable difficulties ensue but ‘the show must go on’.
This heart-warming play became a hugely successful film with a stellar cast, including Maggie Smith and Billy Connolly. A truly life-affirming experience.
